From Summer Sun to Autumn Gold | 2026 Equine Photoshoots

Summer 2026 has been an incredibly busy season behind the camera, filled with beautiful horses, wonderful people and some truly memorable photoshoots.

From relaxed “at home with the horses” sessions and incredibly special prom photoshoots, to capturing pivotal moments in young lives and the most adorable foal photoshoots (with, of course, plenty of foal cuddles along the way!), every session has had its own story to tell.

Here are just a handful of my favourite Summer 2026 portraits...

- LILLIE, PRUDENCE, COLLY & MAISIE -

First up is this truly beautiful prom photoshoot with Lillie and her gorgeous trio of horses.

I first photographed Lillie back in 2023, when she was with her childhood pony, Aimee, her mum's horse, Issey, and gorgeous little coloured pony, Colly. So it was incredibly special to be asked to photograph them again, this time to celebrate such a momentous occasion.

Prom photoshoots will always be a favourite of mine. There's something so special about combining such an important milestone with the horses who have seen us through those big milestones.

Lillie also chose to have a bespoke album created from her photoshoot, featuring her favourite images from the session. She selected a beautiful black leather cover with silver foiling, a beautiful nod to Lillie's silver dress; a truly beautiful keepsake to treasure for a lifetime.

- ALICE & INDI -

How could I not include this truly stunning photoshoot?

Photographing horses amongst lavender has been a dream of mine for many, many years, so when the opportunity finally arose this summer, I absolutely leapt at the chance!

It really was the most magical photoshoot location you could wish for. Paired with the beautiful lilac gown I had chosen for the session, the whole shoot felt like something straight out of a fairytale.

Definitely one of those photoshoots that I'll remember for a very long time.

- CHARLOTTE & ARCHIE -

From rolling lavender hills to a beautiful family farm setting...

Charlotte and Archie’s photoshoot was all about capturing memories at home, surrounded by the place and people that mean so much to them.

Photographing them on the family farm during harvest made the session even more special. There was something lovely about documenting this particular moment in time - not just capturing beautiful photographs, but creating memories of life with Archie that can be looked back on for years to come.

- BEV & HARVEY -

A beautiful morning spent on the livery yard with Bev and her absolutely stunning boy, Harvey.

This was such a relaxed session, making use of everything the stables had to offer, from the barn and outdoor arena to trackways and surrounding fields.

It’s a lovely reminder that you don't need a picture-perfect location, or rolling hills for beautiful equine photographs; your horse's own yard can provide everything we need for a varied, natural and personal photoshoot.

- HETTY & TWIGLET -
Foal photoshoots will always be a career highlight; I don't think anyone could grumble about spending a morning photographing adorable foals!

Twiglet certainly didn't disappoint. She threw some absolutely brilliant shapes and showed off all her moves throughout the session, providing plenty of entertainment (and plenty of beautiful photographs!).

By the end of it all, she was ready for a well-earned power nap after the excitement of her photoshoot!

- AMELIE & BELLA -

And to round off my Summer 2026 photoshoots, we have a gorgeous session over Cannock Chase with Amelie and her lovely Connemara, Bella.

Cannock Chase is such a beautiful location for an equine photoshoot, and one of the things I love most about it is how completely different it looks with every season.

Which brings me neatly to what comes next...

- FROM SUMMER SUN TO AUTUMN GOLD -

As we wave goodbye to a busy summer season filled with gorgeous golden light, green leaves and beautiful summer coats, we're heading into another one of my favourite times of year for equine photography: autumn.

Golden leaves, rich earthy tones, cosy layers, moody skies and beautiful hazy, misty autumn light all combine to create something completely different from a summer photoshoot.

So many people naturally associate equine photography with summer, but autumn really is just as beautiful, and there are some added bonuses too!

Cooler temperatures and fewer flies can make sessions much more comfortable for both horse and owner, particularly for horses who struggle with allergies or don't enjoy the heat. And for those of you who don't feel that wearing a floaty dress and standing in a field in the summer really reflects who you are, autumn offers a completely different feel.

Think cosy jumpers, boots, tweed, earthy colours and a beautiful orange, brown and golden colour palette.

Most importantly, autumn gives us the opportunity to capture your horse during a completely different chapter of the year. The changing landscape, softer light and rich colours can create truly breathtaking and unique artwork.

- MOVING FORWARDS IN 2026 -

I cannot wait to be back behind the camera this autumn and see what the new season brings.

Cannock Chase is particularly beautiful during this time of year, but you don't need to travel to a spectacular location for gorgeous autumn photographs. As Bev & Harvey's session shows, some of my favourite images can be created much closer to home, including at livery yards and horses' own homes.

Autumn has a way of transforming even the most familiar surroundings.
